Affidea finalizes the acquisition of MedEuropa Romania and opens a EUR 15 million radiotherapy center in Iasi

Pan-European healthcare services provider Affidea Group announced that it has completed the acquisition of MedEuropa Romania, an oncology services provider. After an investment of EUR 15 million, a new radiotherapy center in Iasi is also scheduled to open at the end of the month.

Following the completion of the acquisition of MedEuropa and the addition of a new oncology center in Iasi, Affidea reaches 58 centers throughout Romania.

The company said the acquisition “represents significant progress in achieving its mission to improve the continuity of oncology care for cancer patients throughout Romania.”

The new MedEuropa center in Iasi in eastern Romania, equipped with the latest technology, in addition to radiotherapy, will provide cancer patients with daily hospitalization, as well as cancer treatment consultations. The team includes 7 radiation oncologists, 5 medical physicists and designated administrative staff.

Guy Blomfield, Group CEO and Chairman of the Board of Affidea, stated: “The successful acquisition of MedEuropa Romania and the opening of our new radiotherapy center in Iasi complement our growing network, which now includes 362 centers in 15 countries in Europe.”
