Chams Plc appoints Chijioke Ugochukwu as non-executive director

The Board of Directors of Chams Holding Company Plc has announced the appointment of Ms. Chijioke Ugochukwu as a Non-Executive Director of the company.

The appointment was included in the company’s notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investment public, according to Nairametrics.

The appointment of the Director in accordance with the declaration will take place on June 1, 2024.

The statement reads:

“Chams Holding Company Plc (Chams or the Company) wishes to inform the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and investors of the appointment of Ms. Chijioke Ugochukwu as Non-Executive Director of Chams Holding Company Plc with effect from June 1, 2024.”

According to a statement signed by Company Secretary/Legal Adviser Yetunde Emmanuel, Chijioke Ugochukwu is a Chartered Director and Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD) of the United Kingdom and the Chartered Institute of Directors of Nigeria (CIoD) and also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria (CIBN ).

She has spent over 30 years on the board, becoming a director in 2012 and is currently an independent non-executive director of Access Pensions Limited.

He serves on several committees and boards of CIoD Nigeria, CIBN and Lagos Business School (LBS).

He is a member of the Board of Governors of Babington Macaulay Seminary. Previously, she was Executive Director of Shared Services and Products and Chief Information Officer at Fidelity Bank Plc.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B Hons.) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and a Bar (BL) from the Nigerian Law School.

He also holds a Master of Business Administration from IESE/University de Navarre in Barcelona. She has participated in several executive education programs around the world at the Institute of Directors UK, Institute of Management Development (IMD), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Oxford Said Business School, The Wharton School and Columbia Business School, among others.

She also teaches business ethics and women in leadership at the Lagos Business School.

Chams Holding Company Plc ended its last trading day on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at N1.40 per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), registering a decline of 6.7% from the previous closing price of N1. 50 N. Chams started the year with a share price of N1.97 but has since lost 28.9% from its valuation.
