Brookline girls volleyball ranked No. 3 in Globe Top 20

There are only two teams in the World’s Top 20 girls volleyball rankings that have remained unchanged all season: Attleboro at No. 2 and Newton North at the top.

Until this week, both were undefeated. On Tuesday night, Brookline fought off North’s blow and earned a four-set victory to move up to No. 3. While the top two spots remain the same due to consistent seasons, the Warriors have been known to rise to the top and join the team at the right time. We see the competition as a strong trio to watch in the 1st League’s post-season.

In the 2nd League, the undefeated teams were also halved. Billerica aims to finish its regular season without a flaw, but Duxbury lost to Melrose. Barnstable had a wild week, beating Needham before falling to Bishop Feehan. Newton South picked up a blowout win over Weston after falling to Franklin and Wayland.
