MOAB – A woman needed medical attention after her hair became entangled in a rappel device while kayaking on Monday evening.

According to the Grand County EMS Facebook page, emergency services were called to a 50-year-old woman who was injured after her hair became entangled in a rappel device on the Bow and Arrow Canyoneering Route.

“Upon arrival, the crew found that the woman had been released from the device and her companion lowered to stable ground,” the EMS post reads. “A group of kayakers provided her with initial care and bandaged her injuries.”

Grand County Emergency Medical Services said paramedics took over treatment of the woman while Grand County Search and Rescue prepared a technical descent system.
