JAKARTA – Recently, social media has been amazed by a new e-commerce company called Grab Toko. The reason is that this buying and selling website dares to give tempting discounts.

Even for hot products like iPhone 12 or PlayStation 5, they dare to give huge discounts ranging from 50 to 90 percent. Unfortunately, this is just fabrication or fabrication, because many people are biting their fingers these days.

This means that many people’s dream of owning cheap, high-tech electronics from Grab Toko must be dashed. This is because suddenly the management revealed alleged fraud on the part of investors.

We are currently reporting Grab Toko investors for embezzlement of consumer money to the Trunojoyo Police Headquarters in South Jakarta (report number after investigation), Yudha Manggala Putra said in a statement on Grab Toko’s Instagram.

It is not yet known how many consumer transactions were affected by the fraud. However, while the investigation is still ongoing, Yudha said his party will immediately refund the money to the consumer as soon as possible.

“We also tried to confiscate existing investor assets and freeze all our accounts to avoid even greater losses. We will refund the consumer’s money as soon as possible, after passing the police procedure. “I apologize again for your losses,” he continued.

So who is the Grab Store investor? Quoting data from the Directorate General of Legal Administration General (Ditjen AHU), the company called PT Grab Toko Indonesia has a legalization date of November 27, 2020.

The document also named Anak Agung Narendra Putra as the company’s commissioner. Subsequently, Yudha Manggala Putra’s name was also mentioned as the director of the company.

Not part of Grab Indonesia

Many people think that Grab Toko is a subsidiary of or collaborates with the on-demand service Grab Indonesia. However, when traced, Grab Indonesia denied that Grab Toko was associated with the company.

This was conveyed by Grab Indonesia’s public relations manager, Dewi Nuraini, who emphasized that Grab Toko has nothing to do with Grab. “It has nothing to do with it, it’s not part of Grab,” Nuraini said.

Moreover, Nuraini and his party will also take necessary legal action due to the use of the name Grab Toko, which resembles the Grab passenger transport service in Indonesia.

“We will take the necessary legal action to protect our brand’s reputation. Because the Grab brand is registered and protected as intellectual property rights in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia,” Nuraini explained.

Trends and then disappeared

After the alleged fraud was announced, Grab Toko’s activity, which had previously been intense on social media and the Internet, suddenly disappeared. The @grabtokoid account just disappeared from the Instagram page.

Grab Toko’s IG account is also known to have changed its name 14 times before finally uploading 68 posts and a total of 78,000 followers. Now you can no longer access your Grab Toko account and the buy and sell site and all posts have disappeared.

However, payment options for groceries purchased on Grab Toko can only be transferred via BCA Bank. BCA took quick action following this incident.

This largest private bank immediately froze Grab Toko’s account. In its official statement, BCA revealed this decision in response to information circulating about fraud in an online store in which one of the recipient’s accounts used a BCA account.

“It can be said that when carrying out banking operations, BCA is always guided by the laws in force in Indonesia. BCA has postponed transactions on the account of a given online store, which means that the account is temporarily unable to complete transactions,” BCA said in its official statement.
