Cambodia and China agree to support cooperation in various sectors

Cambodia and China not only praised their excellent relations, but also expressed their firm commitment to further strengthen and expand their cooperation. This commitment spans a wide range of bilateral and multilateral frameworks, all in the common interest of both countries, the region and the world.

During this afternoon’s meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and visiting Shohrat Zakir, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China, agreed to support cooperation between the two countries in a variety of sectors. These include economy, trade, society, culture, tourism, education, vocational training, people-to-people exchanges, industrial and technological modernization, development of agricultural exports from Cambodia to China, fish-rice corridor and industrial-technology corridor.

Shohrat Zakir praised the development of Cambodia, especially the capital Phnom Penh, and informed Hun Manet of the fruitful results of his meeting with Khuon Sudary, Speaker of the National Assembly of Cambodia.

For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister welcomed the outcome of the meeting between the leaders of the two legislative bodies and thanked the Chinese government and people for their contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.

Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed the commitment of the seventh-term Royal Government to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two nations.AKP
