AXS Energia raises $31.3 million for distributed solar projects across Brazil

AXS Energia, a Roca group company specializing in renewable energy, has confirmed new long-term consolidated operations in the first quarter of 2024. The operation, worth USD 31.3 million, aims to finance solar power plants for distributed micro- and mini-generation.

The loan was taken out by AXS Delaware, a subsidiary of AXS Energia, using funds from the CIFI and Triodos groups. This financial support will support the construction of 14 solar energy production plants in the states of Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Paraná with a total installed capacity of 39.7 MWp. The process was led by XP Investimentos.

“This operation represents another important step in AXS’s mission to promote clean and sustainable energy in Brazil through shared solar energy, while contributing to job creation and economic growth in the regions where the plants operate,” said Eduardo Coutinho, commercial director for AXS. This initiative is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by over 40,000 tonnes per year, helping to fight global warming. Additionally, the project is expected to create over 760 direct and indirect jobs, which will strengthen the local economy and benefit the communities involved.
