The Department of Justice will announce an antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation on Thursday

The Justice Department plans to file an antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation, Ticketmaster’s parent company, as early as Thursday, according to four people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the matter before it becomes public.

The lawsuit is expected to allege that the entertainment conglomerate used its extensive presence – as a concert promoter, ticket seller and venue owner – to eliminate rivals in a way that reduced consumer choice and drove up prices for consumers, the sources said.
