IRSA releases 272,000 cusecs of water

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (APP): Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Thursday released 272,000 cusecs of water from various shore stations against an inflow of 302,000 cusecs.

According to data released by IRSA, the water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Barrage was 540.31 feet, which was 70.31 feet higher than the dead level of 1,398 feet. The inflow and outflow of water through the dam was recorded as 1,12,000 cusecs and 1,00,000 cusecs respectively.

The water level in the Jhelum river at Mangla dam was 317.55 feet, which was 128.55 feet higher than its dead level of 3,000 meters. Water inflow and outflow were recorded as 63,000 cusecs and 45,000 cusecs respectively.

Water release in Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur was recorded as 143,500, 136,700, 70,700 and 26,000 cusecs respectively. Similarly, in the case of Kabul River, a total of 83,700 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 23,100 cusecs was released from Chenab River at Marala.
