The French-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has inaugurated its 17th president, Guillaume Niarfeix, who took over from Usman Mohammed. This comes even as the House called for the sustainability of government policies to help stimulate investment and growth.

He said he was committed to promoting the chamber’s value in harnessing economic growth between Nigeria and France. He noted that there are many challenges ahead, but he is determined to overcome them through the partnership of board members. He said the main challenge was to ensure French companies had access to the Nigerian market, which the chamber would work closely with the new management on.

Chief Executive Officer Moses Umoru said trade between France and Nigeria continued to grow and the government was assisting in the repatriation of stranded aviation funds, which benefited companies such as Air France. He said the chamber wanted policies to be made sustainable and codified to enhance business confidence and developmental growth.

He said power is the basic infrastructure that the government must work on for businesses to achieve optimal growth. He said with the new leadership, it is expected that members will expect new things in terms of the chamber’s usual program while also nurturing the development of start-ups in the chamber trying to do business in Nigeria and France.

Meanwhile, Niarfeix is ​​a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and HEC Paris, Niarfeix is ​​a seasoned executive with extensive experience in various management positions in various industries, currently serving as Managing Director of SPIE Global Services Energy (Nigeria and Ghana) since July 2020, and a service provider operating in renewable sectors, maintenance and training in the energy industry.

He has extensive experience in the industry; His career path spans a variety of roles, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to driving growth and innovation.

Additionally, Guillaume has served as a member of the board of directors at Magnifor Consulting based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he has worked since March 2015. Since April 2019, he has also served as president of the board of Lycée Français Louis Pasteur, reaffirming his commitment to educational leadership.

Niarfeix is ​​also actively involved in the business community, including: positions as former vice-president and board member at FNCCI and Eurocham Nigeria respectively. His expertise spans a variety of advisory roles, including serving as a member of the CyberTaskForce Advisory Board from April 2017 to June 2020.

With a career spanning over a decade, Guillaume has accumulated valuable experience in risk management, supply chain, strategic consulting and project management, working with renowned organizations such as TotalEnergys and IBX Business Network.
