Microsoft releases Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024

Microsoft has announced the availability of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024. This version of Windows 11 is designed specifically for Internet of Things (IoT) devices and is now long-term stable thanks to a ten-year support cycle. This comes after Microsoft also made Windows 11 24H2 available to Insiders.

LTSC stands for Long Term Service Channel.

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 has updated hardware requirements that will allow it to run on a wider range of IoT devices. It also has 36 interchangeable packages, providing greater control over the operating system features included on their devices.

The update includes some UI improvements over the standard version of Windows 11, such as

  • taskbar overflow menu i
  • File Explorer tabs.

The introduction of the new Windows Security app improves security features.
