Pelagus 3Djoint venture company based in tysenkrupp AND Wilhelmsensigned a strategic cooperation agreement with a digital production company Immens develop spare parts for the maritime and energy industries.

Under the partnership, Pelagus 3D and Immensa will combine their strengths in additive manufacturing solutions and digital inventory to enhance their service offerings and expand their market presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. thyssenkrupp and Wilhelmsen announced the formation of the Pelagus 3D joint venture in September 2023.

Pelagus’s secure 3D Pelagus platform is designed to serve as the primary connection between customers, such as ship managers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to produce spare parts on demand.

According to the agreement, Immensa will be the exclusive service provider for projects initiated via the Pelagus 3D platform in the MENA territory. It will also distribute Pelagus 3D products in the marine and energy sectors.

Through the partnership, both organizations aim to streamline supply chain processes, expand OEM networks and deliver significant improvements in service delivery to end users.

The partnership is mutually exclusive for both parties in the designated territories. Both parties believe this will provide a solid basis for aligning efforts and maximizing the reach and efficiency of the partners’ combined services.

“Immensa strives to be world-class in everything it does: technology, strategy, execution, talent and its partners,” said Fahmi Al Shawwa, CEO of Immensa. “Today’s announcement brings two world-class partners together, and we look forward to working closely with Pelagus 3D – which is developing the largest database of additive manufacturing spare parts in the marine and offshore industry – to transform inventory management across all sectors.”

Pelagus 3D and Immensa believe that the market environment is ideal for their partnership. It combines Pelagus 3D’s digital inventory expertise and Immensa’s spare parts digitization know-how, with the partners “conservatively estimating” that their collaboration will generate at least $2 billion in new and growing potential revenue, which would represent growth by over 50% in the MENA region.

“This is a significant milestone in our mission to bring on-demand spare parts to the MENA region,” added Haakon Ellekjaer, commercial director of Pelagus 3D. “Through this partnership, we offer enhanced additive manufacturing services and technologies to our OEMs and end users, supporting technological advancements in the industry. We look forward to working with Immensa to further AM innovation and accelerate adoption.”
