Walmart’s new immersive shopping experience is expanding its presence in “virtual worlds” and among influencers.

The discounter has launched “Walmart Realms,” a 3D virtual shopping environment curated by digital influencers and built on the Emperia metaverse platform. Available on a dedicated website, Walmart Realms offers a selection of three animated 3D stores, each with its own theme and inventory created by a different influencer or team of influencers.

Each store offers a 180-degree rotating view and products that customers can click on to get a detailed view and add to their cart. In a gamification element, visitors can also click on “sparks” (representations of the Walmart symbol) and collect them to win prizes.

Currently, the three stores are “So Jelly” – an undersea theme curated by Mai Pham, “Y’Alternative” – a “Wild West meets Goth Glam” theme curated by Makenzie and Malia, and “Go Chromatic” – a theme metallic curated by Nava Rose.
