Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Stock prices fall as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher during Thursday’s session.

Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (up 7.27%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (up 5.00%), Torrent Power Ltd. (up 3.24%), Adani Power Ltd. (up 2.88 %), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. (up 2.33%) ), JSW Energy Ltd. (up 1.32%), Karma Energy Ltd. (up 1.25%), Adani Green Energy Ltd. ( an increase of 1.20%), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (an increase of 1.17%) and Inox Wind Ltd. (an increase of 0.86%) were among those who gained the most.

GE Power India Ltd. (down 9.02%), GE T&D India Ltd. (down 4.70%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd. (down 3.58%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India) Ltd. (down 2.38%), Power and Instrumentation (Gujarat) Ltd. (down 1.98%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd. (down 1.84%), KEC International Ltd. (down 1.82% ), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 1.80%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd. (down 1.54%) and Indowind Energy Ltd. (down 1.33%) were among the largest losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the session up 369.86 points at 22,967.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex ended up 1,196.98 points at 75,418.04.

Adani Enterprises Ltd. (up 7.85%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (up 4.73%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (up 3.6%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. ( up 3.5%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 3.49%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (up 3.36%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 3.23%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (up 2.99%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (up 2.79%) and Shriram Finance Ltd. .(up 2.73%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. In turn, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down by 2.88%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down by 1.8%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down by 1.14%), Coal India Ltd. ( down 0.88%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.42%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 0.22%) closed in the red.
