The United Arab Emirates will invest $10 billion in promising sectors of Pakistan’s economy

Abu Dhabi, May 24 (UNI) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced investments worth USD 10 billion in promising sectors of the Pakistani economy Abu Dhabi, according to a statement issued after talks between UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif .

“The parties agreed to strengthen and support Pakistan’s economy and enhance cooperation between the two countries. The United Arab Emirates will allocate $10 billion for investments in promising sectors of Pakistan’s economy,” the statement was quoted by WAM news agency.

According to Pakistan Radio, speaking at a roundtable in Abu Dhabi on Thursday on ‘Joint Innovation: UAE-Pakistan Technology Cooperation’, Sharif expressed his government’s strong determination to completely transform Pakistan’s economy through cooperation, joint ventures and knowledge sharing partnerships with United Arab Emirates

He said the government is fully focused on promoting information technology and artificial intelligence in various sectors of Pakistan’s economy, including agriculture, mining and industry, to increase exports.

According to the Pakistani Prime Minister, the development of IT skills is essential to empower the youth, who constitute 60% of Pakistan’s population, and therefore praised the cooperation of the United Arab Emirates with Pakistani companies to promote the digitalization of Pakistan’s economy.
