Stock Sectors: Stock Update: Mining stocks rise as the market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher at 11:25 am on Friday

Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd. (up 4.31%), Lexus Granito(India) Ltd. (up 2.90%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd. (up 2.57%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd. (up 2.03%), 20 Microns Ltd. (up 1.56%), MOIL Ltd. (up 1.42%), NMDC Ltd. (up 1.34%), Coal India Ltd. (up 0.93%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd. (up 0.83%) among the top earners.

The biggest losers were Pokarna Ltd. (down 0.93%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd. (down 0.75%), KIOCL Ltd. (down 0.23%) and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (down 0. 09%).

The NSE Nifty50 index rose 9.1 points to 22,976.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 25.2 points to 75,443.24 at around 11:25 am.

Adani Enterprises Ltd. (up 1.77%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (up 1.19%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (up 1.11%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (up 1.02 %), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (up 0.99%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (up 0.96%), Coal India Ltd. (up 0.86%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. ( up 0.83%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 0.78%) and Tata Motors Ltd. (up 0.72%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. Meanwhile, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (down 1.44%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 1.34%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 1.01%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (down by 0.88%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 0.67%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (down 0.64%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (down 0.63%) , ICICI Bank Ltd. (down 0.61%), ITC Ltd. (down 0.57%) ) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (down 0.54%) were trading in the red.
