IRSA releases 298,300 cusecs of water

ISLAMABAD, May 24 (APP): Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Friday released 298,300 cusecs of water from various shore stations against an inflow of 335,200 cusecs.

According to data released by IRSA, the water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Barrage was 540.84 m and was 20.84 m higher than the dead level of 1,398 ft. The inflow and outflow of water in the dam were recorded as 126,200 cusecs and 115,000 cusecs respectively.

The water level in the Jhelum river at Mangla barrage was 317.55 feet, which was 129.55 feet higher than its dead level of 3,000 meters. Water inflow and outflow were recorded at 65,700 cusecs and 40,000 cusecs respectively.

Water release in Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur was recorded as 165,000, 125,500, 73,700 and 26,000 cusecs respectively. Similarly, a total of 93,500 cusecs of water was released from the Kabul River at Nowshera and 29,100 cusecs from the Chenab River at Marala.
