FMCSA reinstates Blue Star ELD to the list of registered devices

One of two electronic recording devices removed from the list of registered devices is back in favor with federal regulators.

The agency announced Thursday that the Blue Star ELD device, which the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration removed from its list of registered devices on Tuesday, has been reinstated.

Truck drivers and motor carriers using the Blue Star ELD device, if they stopped using it as of Tuesday, can now return to using the device to ensure technical compliance with the agency’s ELD mandate.

FMCSA did not provide any information on the reasons for the recall in the first place, but noted that if the ELD supplier corrects the deficiencies in the devices, the device will be reinstated on the list of registered devices.
