Developer Wuthering Waves is fixing startup issues when players report that their devices are overheating

The creator of Wuthering Waves apologized for the turbulent launch and offered players compensation.

Wuthering Waves is a Genshin Impact-style open-world gacha game from Chinese developer Kuro that was released globally this week as a free-to-play game on PC and mobile devices.

However, there have been a number of issues since launch, including tons of bugs and lag issues. In a tweet, Kuro said he is actively working on solutions to these issues. “We are committed to continuous self-reflection and improvement, and your satisfaction is our top priority,” the developer said. “We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience during our recent technical issues.”

We describe the scale of technical problems in a post on the Wichrowe Fale website. There was a login timeout issue which has already been fixed, an age authentication issue which is currently being investigated, forced login on every restart of the PC game client, crashing issues, glitches on some Android devices, poor localization quality and issues performance including lags, freezes, frame rate drops, device overheating, blurry graphics, and force quitting.

An emergency patch was released to address the most pressing issues, but Kuro recommended that people who continue to experience severe overheating or frequent crashes should lower their graphics settings “in case of overload to ensure smoother gameplay.”

“Please rest assured that we are committed to providing the best possible experience for our players and we take performance issues seriously,” Kuro said. “We will continue to optimize the game’s performance in future updates to improve your gaming experience. Please stay tuned for upcoming notifications and announcements. “

Compensation currently offered includes Lustrous Tide*10 for Rovers (player characters) who reach Union Tier 2 or higher by July 3.
