IT Jobs See Significant Growth Across All Tech Hubs: Report

New Delhi, May 24: A new report shows that from April 2023 to April 2024, the number of jobs in the information technology (IT) sector increased significantly across all technology hubs, despite a national shift in job opportunities.

According to job and employment platform Indeed, job vacancies in the IT sector increased by 41.5 percent in Hyderabad and 24 percent in Bengaluru, highlighting the growing importance of these cities as top destinations for IT professionals.

“Software and IT roles appear to be in high demand not only by those currently working in the field but also by those looking for new career opportunities,” said Sashi Kumar, Sales Director at Indeed India.

“Despite the layoffs, the attractiveness of IT-related professions has increased. This strong interest in IT may also result from the broad specialization of skills, training and experience typically necessary for these positions,” he added.

Kumar also mentioned that to navigate this job market, job seekers should focus on acquiring skills that will set them apart from the competitive talent pool.

Meanwhile, a recent report by Indeed found that around 54 percent of employees in India anticipate a significant change in their roles in the next five years, and 95 percent expressed confidence in their ability to adapt to these changes.
