Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post endorsed Trump for a second presidency.

The newspaper said the election was “one of the most significant in the history of this great nation” and added that the decision “will have reverberations for decades to come.”

Citing concerns about the US border, safe cities, the US’s position on the world stage and gender, the newspaper argues that Trump is the “only” option.

The newspaper’s support for the former president is notable given that it abandoned Trump’s presidency after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The newspaper’s editors then wrote that “Trump has again proven that he is unworthy to be the head of this country.”

The Post’s editorial is one of several published recently: The New York Times called Harris “the only candidate” for president, as did The Boston Globe.

Meanwhile, controversy arose in the Los Angeles Times over the lack of any support.

Patrick Soon-Shiong, owner of the LA Times, refused to allow Harris’ endorsement to be published, leading to the resignation of editorial board chief Mariel Garza. Two other members of the board of directors also resigned, reports the American publication Semafor.
