High profits for DuPont, no revenues in the second quarter

Investing.com – DuPont on Thursday said second-quarter earnings beat analyst expectations and revenue fell short of forecasts.

The company reported earnings per share of $0.97 on revenue of $5.47 billion. Analysts polled by Investing.com forecast EPS of $0.89 on revenue of $6.02 billion. That compared to EPS of $1.37 on revenue of $24.25 billion in the same period a year earlier. In the previous quarter, the company saw EPS of $1.78 on revenue of $19.65 billion.

DuPont is tracking the performance of other major basic materials sectors this month

On Thursday, Vale ADR reported second-quarter EPS of -$0.03 on revenue of $9.19 billion, compared to forecasts for EPS of $0.54 on revenue of $9.56 billion.

Air Products’ results exceeded analyst expectations as of July 25, with third-quarter EPS of $2.22 and revenue of $2.22 billion. Investing.com analysts expected EPS of $2.15 on revenue of $2.32 billion
