HP’s next-generation AI computers plan to leverage LLM to boost productivity

Global electronics manufacturer HP Inc. announced the launch of its next-generation AI-powered PCs, the HP OmniBook X AI and HP EliteBook Ultra AI PC, at Microsoft’s AI Vision event.

HP emphasizes that the way we live and work is no longer limited to the desk – according to the company, today people create at home, in the office and everywhere in between. At the same time, HP continues to pursue artificial intelligence that is rapidly changing everything, including consumers’ and professionals’ expectations for productivity and creativity.

More than half of early technology adopters believe AI will save them time, and 72% of business leaders believe AI will help employees focus on more productive work. Additionally, developers are releasing a steady stream of AI-enabled software designed for new experiences and capabilities that can only be unlocked on next-generation AI desktops.

“In the era of AI transformation, how we define an exceptional device is no longer defined by speed and feed – it is measured by our ability to create and enable meaningful, transformative experiences,” comments Alex Cho, president of Personal Systems at HP Inc. “We are at the beginning of a new decade of personal computing that will redefine what a personal computer is. “AI is fundamentally enabling more personalized and creative experiences that we believe will empower people in both their personal and professional lives.”

OmniBook XAI and EliteBook Ultra computers use the latest processing technologies

The OmniBook XAI and EliteBook Ultra products are designed and engineered around the Snapdragon device intelligence. HP says that by combining the Snapdragon processor with the Copilot+ PC and its revolutionary features such as Recall, these PCs enhance creativity and productivity, providing a more personalized and efficient computing experience.

The company notes that more AI applications are becoming available every day, expanding the possibilities of what can be achieved with the next-generation OmniBook XAI and EliteBook Ultra AI computers to enable users to conveniently invest in next-generation computers. According to HP, users can communicate and collaborate more effectively with AI tools that use gestures, facial expressions and voice interaction to easily interact with others. Improve your presentation skills in virtual meetings with real-time coaching and feedback powered by AI technologies. Users can also create and edit photos, audio and video files faster than ever with AI-enabled software that makes professional features easy for even beginners.

HP says its next-generation OmniBook XAI and EliteBook Ultra AI-powered PCs unlock capabilities beyond traditional PCs by running AI locally on the device for maximum performance, efficiency and privacy with longer battery life than ever before.

Here is a summary of the features of the OmniBook XAI and EliteBook Ultra:

  • Elegant and versatile: HP says its AI-powered slim PCs deliver up to 26 hours of battery life. Both computers feature the new HP AI Helix logo, reflecting HP AI engineering that delivers optimized AI performance and security. The HP EliteBook Ultra adds an extra layer of durability to commercial customers with a blue finish with a smudge-resistant physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating.
  • Instant response: HP says that with OmniBook XAI and EliteBook Ultra, users can open large Microsoft Excel files almost 2 times faster; users can stream up to 12 hours of Microsoft Teams calls or up to 22 hours of Netflix streaming.
  • Responsibly produced: Part of HP’s Sustainable PC portfolio, which includes both devices featuring 50% recycled aluminum in their casings and 100% sustainably sourced packaging, as well as being EPEAT Climate+ Gold registered and ENERGY STAR certified.

AI The centerpiece of new PCs

Citing market research, the company says that with 60% of freelancers already using AI tools in their work and 70% of developers adding AI to existing applications, HP OmniBook XAI and EliteBook Ultra computers take advantage of the latest software features and capabilities, including:

  • Cooperation possibilities: Because work requires in-person and virtual collaboration, state-of-the-art conferencing tools are crucial. The new Poly Camera Pro offers virtual interactions across all collaboration and multi-camera streaming applications. Poly Camera Pro uses the NPU to power AI enhancements such as Spotlight, Background Blur & Replace, Auto Framing, and more, allowing the processor to more effectively maintain performance while saving battery.
  • Explore and optimize: HP AI Companion, available for the first time on today’s next-generation PCs, uses artificial intelligence to optimize the device for greater productivity while placing AI tools locally on the device.
  • Protected work: As AI advances, HP acknowledges that robust security measures are essential for AI-enabled computers. Commercial users can do their best work from anywhere on the HP EliteBook Ultra with Wolf Pro Security Next Gen Antivirus (NGAV), which provides machine learning to protect against new and known threats. HP adds that as a Microsoft Secured-Core PC, the device is designed to protect your PC down to the firmware level with hardware-based security features that protect user credentials and other critical data.
