Students from three Madison-area high schools visited Everlight Solar’s headquarters for a day full of engaging, hands-on activities designed to introduce them to potential careers in the solar industry.

Approximately 150 students from Madison East High School, Middleton High School and Oregon High School attended the event. The day began with a warm welcome from Everlight Solar’s Director of Electrical Operations, Sales Development Manager, and numerous members of the Everlight recruiting team. Each party shared insights about the company’s mission and the growing importance of renewable energy.

Students then progressed through various positions that highlighted different career paths at Everlight Solar. During the sales game session, students practiced their communication skills by learning the basics of sales through role-playing exercises. The construction relays gave students a taste of the hard work involved in installing solar panels, promoting teamwork and problem solving.

One of the most anticipated activities was a mock interview session. Under the supervision of the company’s recruitment specialists, they received valuable comments on their CVs and interview techniques, gaining self-confidence and practical skills that will be useful in their future job searches.

There are an incredible number of jobs in the renewable energy sector, so it is very important to show these students how wide the opportunities are there – and the possibilities are endless,” said Rebekah Harris, assistant manager of recruiting at Everlight Solar.
