Helsinki, Finland. Senop Oy will develop advanced night vision devices for the Finnish Defense Forces Logistics Command, the company announced in a statement.

This partnership focuses on increasing the Finnish military’s night combat capabilities by developing domestically produced night vision equipment that aims to combine high performance, security of supply, cost-effectiveness and compatibility with current and future Finnish soldier systems, the statement said.

The development includes new night vision goggles using M20 technology with improved ergonomics and a new helmet mount, tactical thermal binoculars with uncooled thermal imaging camera technology, and a universal fire control system for various weapons platforms – features designed specifically for the Finnish Defense Forces, the company says.

The agreement also opens up the possibility for other countries to join in the development of these night vision devices at a later stage.
