Mayawati attacks BJP and Congress; says he will work on ‘sarvajan hitaya, sarvajan sukhay’ policy

Gorakhpur (UP): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday claimed that people have left the BJP and Congress due to their bad policies.

Addressing an election rally in Gorakhpur in support of BSP candidate Javed Simnani, Mayawati alleged that the BJP, like the Congress, was following wrong policies.

She expressed confidence that the NDA would not be able to retain power at the Center due to the caste, capitalist and communal politics of the BJP and its allies, provided the elections were fair and there was no tampering with the voting machines.

The former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh said that “atrocities against minorities under the guise of Hindutva have reached their peak”.

“Moreover, the situation of poor people belonging to upper castes is also not very good. The Brahmin community in particular is facing large-scale persecution across the state,” Mayawati said.

“Due to the bad policies of the BJP government, the country’s economy is adversely affected. Poverty, unemployment and inflation continue to rise, and corruption is not over yet,” she added.

She urged people not to let the BJP or the Congress win the Lok Sabha elections, saying that if the BSP is elected to power, it will ensure prosperity for all.

“If the BSP comes to power at the Centre, it will follow the policy of ‘sarvajan hitaya, sarvajan sukhay’ (prosperity for all). This way, it will be possible to fulfill the unfulfilled dream of BSP founder Kanshi Ram ji,” she said. he said.

Referring to the central government’s free ration program, Mayawati said, “The small free ration you receive will not provide you with lasting benefits. I want to tell you that the ration you will get for free does not come from the pockets of the BJP and RSS people, but from your tax money.”

Mayawati also struck at the Samajwadi event. “When the SP was in power, it changed the names of the districts and institutions that we had created in the name of our saints and gurus. This shows their (SP)’s evil intentions towards these saints and gurus. I believe that in such conditions I will not vote for the SP,” she said.

The last phase of voting in Gorakhpur will be held on June 1.
