Indonesia is investigating Shopee and Lazada units for suspected violations of anti-competition laws

JAKARTA (Reuters) – Indonesia’s antitrust agency is investigating the local units of e-commerce platforms Shopee and Lazada for suspected violations of anti-competitive rules, it said on Monday.

These are PT Shopee Internasional Indonesia and PT Ecart Webportal Indonesia, which operates Lazada, the company said. Shopee is owned by Southeast Asian tech company Sea Ltd, while Lazada is a Southeast Asian subsidiary of Alibaba.
