This week’s M&A and financing roundup: May 20-25

The past week saw a mix of investments, with startups raising $58.36 million across 16 deals, down 52% from last week’s $121.8 million raised across 21 deals. Of all sectors, the Fintech sector turned out to be the investor’s favorite this week, and start-ups from this sector raised USD 23.9 million in 4 transactions. On the other hand, investors opted for seed funding as it jumped more than 4 times this week to $13.12 million from $3.5 million last week. So who are the top players receiving funding this week in India? Let’s check it!

1. Navi Finserv receives $18 million from multiple investors

Navi Finserv, run by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, has raised the amount $18 million from multiple investors including Kairus Shavak Dadachanji, Pervin Kairus Dadachanji, Rishad Kairus Dadachanji, Rohit Kapadia, Sandhya Kapadia and Yash Kapadia. This B2C fintech company has raised funding through a debt financing round.

2. UnifyApps raises $11 million from Elevation Capital

Enterprise-tech company, UnifyApps has collected a total of $11 million to Capital of ascent. UnifyApps, a B2B company in the Horizontal SaaS industry as a subsector of its offer, received financing in seed funding round.

3. Varthana

Varthana, a fintech company, has received $3.2 million in funding from Triodos Investment Management. This B2B-B2C transaction at Lendingtech did not disclose the type of financing round received for the investment.

4. Portl receives $3 million from the Bharat Innovation Fund

Health technology company Portl recently raised $3 million in funding from multiple investors including Bharat Innovation Fund, Kalaari Capital and T-Hub Foundation. This B2C Fitness & Wellness brand has kept information about the type of financing secret.

5. NoPo Nanotechnologies raises $3 million from Axilor Ventures and Inflexor Ventures

NoPo Nanotechnologies recently raised $3 million in funding from investors namely Axilor Ventures, Inflexor Ventures, Spectrum Impact and Aureolis. IoT & Hardware B2B Company Closed Pre-Series A Round Financing.

Mergers and acquisitions this week

– AI platform SocialBoat has been acquired by Noise, an audio technology startup, for an undisclosed amount. The startup’s goal is to leverage SocialBoat’s AI capabilities to offer services on its wearable devices

– B2B fintech startup CashFlo has acquired GST-compliant platform Logitax for an undisclosed amount.

– VC fund YourNest Venture Capital has partnered with SanchiConnect, a deep tech support platform, to launch an accelerator for deep tech startups, the Velocity Fast Track startup financing program.
