Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – According to consulting firm Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Malaysia is well-positioned to meet the growing demands of the semiconductor market.

The company’s president and CEO Tindaro Danze said the country can also lead in building greater sustainability in this field, such as wafer manufacturing and integrated circuit (IC) design.

According to him, the semiconductor market in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to witness double-digit growth in 2024 as demand increases and Malaysia has the capacity to fulfill these orders.

Last year, Malaysia secured a 13% share of the global manufacturing testing market and exported nearly MYR580 billion ($123.4 billion) worth of semiconductor products.

Danze said that as Malaysia consolidates its position as a global semiconductor hub, the integration of next-generation AI-enabled technologies creates new growth opportunities in an industry already brimming with innovation./
