BoG task force monitoring forex bureaus for regulatory compliance

Accra, May 27, GNA – The Bank of Ghana has established a task force to monitor all foreign exchange offices to ensure compliance with their regulatory framework.

“The bank is fully aware of the activities of illegal operators in the foreign exchange market and is working with the financial intelligence center to clean up the market,” Dr. Ernest Addison, governor of the Bank of Ghana, said at a press conference.

He said monitoring by the Monetary Office would be intensified to ensure compliance with the regulatory framework.

Therefore, all currency exchange offices advertising exchange rates outside their premises and on social media platforms must immediately stop this practice, he added.
