Some users believe the change could lead to an influx of new, naughty emojis

Instead of relying on a huge list of existing emojis, the upcoming iOS 18 update could generate entirely new ones “based on what users text,” according to Bloomberg.

This rumor has caused iPhone owners on social media to post all sorts of naughty suggestions, such as naughty body parts.

“This is getting out of hand,” wrote one user on X, while another said Apple had “opened Pandora’s box with this.”

“Sexting is about to go crazy,” added a third.

“My God, this won’t end well,” said the fourth.

Others were quick to point out that Android has already had a similar feature for years, accusing Apple of being “late to the party.”

However, the Android version is quite limited, only combining existing emojis – and has not been shown to create overly rude variants.

Apple is scheduled to hold a big event on June 10 where the company is expected to reveal all of its plans.

The next major non-AI change could involve an upgrade to the iPhone’s home screen.

It has been reported that users will have the option to change the color of the app icons.

iPhone owners can also have a bit more freedom in arranging their home screen, allowing them to place apps wherever they like rather than in the standard grid.

iPhone tricks worth trying today

Here are some of the best…

  • Writing cursor – While typing, hold down the spacebar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, allowing you to more easily navigate through words and sentences
  • Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapping squares in the lower right corner and press close all tabs
  • Delete multiple photos quickly – Hold a photo, then swipe diagonally in the Photos app to select multiple photos at once, then press the Delete button
  • Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of the home screen (or swipe left to right on iPhone X or later models), then tap the bar and enter your currency (e.g. $200) and it will automatically convert to your local currency
  • Check if you are due for a battery update – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health and check the maximum capacity reading. Generally speaking, a battery is considered dead when its capacity drops to 80%. If you are below, you can purchase a battery replacement from Apple
  • Move applications faster – Hold an app until it starts moving, then (while holding it) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around more easily
