Chipolo delays Android Find My Device trackers

After a year of waiting, trackers for Find My Device on Android will begin rolling out this week. However, if you’ve been waiting to place an order for Chipolo’s Find My Device trackers, Android-compatible options have been delayed.

Chipolo first announced One Point and One Card trackers for the Find My Device network on Android last year, later delaying the trackers while waiting for Google to launch the network during an Apple-driven hiatus. But when Google launched the Find My Device network in April, Chipolo announced that its trackers would be available from May 27.

It’s still true. For anyone who pre-ordered a tracker last year (before July 2023), Chipolo will ship trackers compatible with Android Find My Device starting today. So everyone who has been waiting will see a new delay.

For the past few weeks, Chipolo has been estimating that the “second batch” of orders will begin shipping on June 10.

Now it has been pushed back to July.

Chipolo now claims on its website that One Point shipping will begin “mid-July,” while One Card orders won’t ship until late July.

Let me repeat: this only applies to new orders. Anyone who pre-ordered early and got into the “first batch” should receive their devices within the next few weeks.

Chipolo did not provide any reason for the delay, but the world of product shipping and logistics is extremely complex. We reached out to Chipolo for further details on the delay and any potential changes in who gets the “first batch” and “second batch,” but the company was not immediately available for comment. We will update this post as more information becomes available.

Meanwhile, another brand launching Find My Device trackers, Pebblebee, estimates that new orders will ship within 2-4 weeks.

Pre-orders for One Point and One Card Chipolo are still available, starting at $28.
