The 2nd Forum on the Strategic Leadership of Qatar’s Development and Humanitarian Sectors has begun

Doha, May 27 (QNA) – The second forum on setting the strategic direction for the development of the humanitarian aid sector in the coming period in the State of Qatar has begun. Forum organized by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) in collaboration with Qatar University’s Center for Social Services and Continuing Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Planning Council, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) .

The forum’s activities continue with training workshops and discussions in the library hall of Qatar University lasting three days. It is attended by 30 officials involved in strategic planning, quality and project management in charitable associations and humanitarian organizations in Qatar, as well as members of the Center for Social Service and Continuing Education and the head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Qatar Red Crescent.

Head of Licensing and Support at RACA Rashid Mohammed Al Nuaimi said that the strategic forum is the first result of the launch of Qatar’s first charity work strategy. He noted that the strategy is being implemented across the country in Qatar’s charitable sector.

Al Nuaimi added that it will work with partners to lay the foundation for a strategic institutional understanding of humanitarian and development work in Qatar, discuss updates on international cooperation in the field of charity and humanitarian development, and manage the strategic implementation of humanitarian initiatives in Qatar. complex environments. He expressed hope that the outcomes of this forum will be fruitful, improving the path of charitable, humanitarian and development work in Qatar and contributing to its prosperity in the region and the world.

For his part, Hassan Al Habbabi, who is the Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs at the Qatar Red Crescent, said that the strategy for effectiveness in charitable and humanitarian work in Qatar underlines our vision of a professional and independent charitable sector, representing an important aspect of the country’s development resources and a strong pillar supporting Qatar’s international status. He explained that this strategy is the result of continuous efforts and cooperation between many national and international entities, reflecting Qatar’s national vision for 2030.

Al Habbabi added that this strategy aims to achieve sustainable development and strengthen Qatar’s position as an advanced country ensuring a dignified life for all citizens, from generation to generation. He emphasized that this strategy represents a strong commitment to achieving a positive and measurable impact on the lives of individuals and communities, not only in Qatar but also around the world.

Najla Al Khulaifi, head of the planning and social development department at the National Planning Council, spoke about Qatar Vision 2030 and subsequent national strategies, the latest of which is the Third National Strategy 2024-2030. She said the strategy is based on seven national strategic outcomes: sustainable economic growth, financial stability, a future-ready workforce, a cohesive society, a high quality of life, environmental sustainability and outstanding government institutions. She added that this strategy provides all stakeholders with the opportunity to participate in Qatar’s development, pointing out that the Qatar Strategy for the Charitable and Humanitarian Sector 2023-2030 intersects with all these pillars and strategies.

The forum aims to raise awareness, increase the capacity and readiness of charitable, humanitarian and development organizations to meet the requirements to activate charitable work strategies in Qatar and enable non-profit organizations in Qatar to achieve institutional excellence. The forum will include 5 workshops covering 12 articles, with the participation of 30 entities from the Charity Regulatory Authority, Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Charities, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, United Nations Development Programme, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Doha Institute of Studies Postgraduate Studies, the National Planning Council, as well as several private associations and charities.

The scientific papers presented at the forum will discuss strategies for charity, humanitarian and development work in Qatar, as well as updates on international cooperation in these fields. They will also discuss the strategic management of humanitarian initiatives in complex environments, Qatar’s strategic perspective in responding to global humanitarian crises and disasters, as well as building the capacity of third sector organizations in Qatar and how to develop annual production plans.(QNA)
