They are an extension of ourselves, and explosive new technologies like artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence offer incredibly exciting possibilities for what you can do with your device – or rather, what your device can do.

But while technology changes, your right to privacy does not. New solutions mean new ways of processing data. At Samsung, we believe you should have a complete picture of your personal data. We believe that transparency, choice and control must be at the heart of mobile experiences.

In this highly digitized world, your security and privacy are more important than ever, so it’s only right that our users have full control over their devices. That’s why we focus on providing solutions that provide full control and control over how your data is used.

Security and privacy panel

This belief is the cornerstone of ours Security and privacy panel. The dashboard gives you full control over your data, including who sees it and how it is used. In one simple and easy-to-use interface, you can view, create and update app permissions, controls and data sharing features, allowing you to effectively manage your data and tailor your experience to your liking.

The dashboard also allows you to see any data that may be at risk, intuitively showing the security status of your security elements.

From there, you can quickly and easily change settings to manage potential threats at the touch of a button. Items are organized by features that may have the biggest impact on your online safety – such as lock screen, account security, protecting your lost device with Find My Phone, app security and updates. They are instantly accessible at the top and intuitively alert you in red, yellow or green, showing any problems at a glance and providing clear indicators of any security issues.

Of course, we will also do this work for you. Apps can track data for months even when not in use, but Galaxy devices proactively remove permissions for apps that haven’t been used for a while, and they can then be restored if you choose to do so in your dashboard.

This can be done using the Permission Manager and Permission Usage. The permissions manager easily shows which apps can access your data – whether it’s your location, camera or microphone, and in what context (for example, if it only happens while you’re using the app). The use of permissions ensures is an easy way to check recently used permissions – specifically which apps have used specific permissions in the last 24 hours or seven days. To make things even easier, we also provide instant action prompts via the dashboard, making data decisions more intuitive and transparent.

Access to the security and privacy panel is simple. Just go to Settings and Security & Privacy, where you can check and adjust permissions as you wish.

You can also play around with features that will further enhance the privacy of your device, such as Access to the storage compartment switch. Enabling this setting (by selecting Settings, then Privacy, and looking for the “Clipboard access notification” toggle) means that every time the app pastes something from the clipboard, you’ll get a notification. No more hidden activity.

Find my mobile / Find Samsung

It’s one of life’s inevitable situations – we’ve all lost our phones at some point. But with Find my cell phone and Samsung Find, you no longer have to worry about your device’s personal data falling into the wrong hands.

Once Find My Mobile is enabled, the Samsung Find app allows you to locate, lock, and even delete data from your device to block access. You can find your device even if it’s not connected to a cellular network, as long as it’s turned on. With Samsung Find you can find not only your Galaxy phone, but also Galaxy Buds, tablets, watches and other devices.

Additional options available make finding your devices easier than ever. Users can invite family members in the Samsung Find app to view their location or enable ringtones to help keep track of shared devices. To give yourself the best chance of finding your lost devices using the Samsung Find app, you can extend battery life by remotely turning on power saving mode.

The choice is yours with our advanced intelligence settings(1). Built into ours Galaxy AI-enabled devicesthese settings allow you to decide how much you want your data to be able to enhance AI performance and whether you want to allow online processing to ensure full AI functionality.

To access the settings, open Settings and select Advanced Features, then Advanced Intelligence. Here you will see the “Process data on device only” option.
