Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Luo Bi Xiong, chairman of the board of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Co., Ltd (CPECC) in Hanoi on May 27.

Ha praised China’s progress in energy modernization, in particular the development of renewable energy and expertise in all stages, from design, production to operation and management.

He expressed confidence that deeper cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese companies, especially in the energy sector, will strengthen the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between the two nations.

Vietnam is undergoing an energy transformation and is implementing the National Energy Development Plan (PDP8) for 2021-2030 with a vision until 2050, he said, adding that this plan requires adjustments to legal regulations related to the development of renewable energy.

Recognizing CPECC’s extensive experience in advising, contracting and investing in energy and renewable energy projects around the world and in Vietnam, Ha expressed his desire for the Chinese company to share its experiences in selecting the most appropriate technologies, refining relevant policies and developing plans to implement the most effective PDP8.

In addition, he was looking for solutions to improve the transmission of electricity between regions, taking into account the integration of various energy sources, such as hydropower, coal, gas and renewable energy sources.

He said the Vietnamese government will create positive conditions for Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises to cooperate effectively under mutually beneficial agreements.

Considering the scientific and economically feasible proposals of the CPECC, the host suggested that the CPECC work directly with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Electricity Company of Vietnam (EVN), and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) to clarify the mechanisms and regulations legal regulations, technical requirements, investment efficiency and project feasibility.

Luo presented CPECC’s achievements in energy planning, infrastructure development, consulting and technical expertise in China, around the world and especially in Vietnam.

He proposed a series of projects focusing on the development of integrated energy centers, high-voltage transmission lines and the production of new green fuels in Vietnam./.
