The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) is seeking public comment on proposed amendments to the Emergency Regulation on Digital Asset Enterprises BE 2561 (2018).

These changes aim to update the regulation to better reflect current market conditions and improve regulatory efficiency. The aim is also to increase investor confidence in digital assets.

This review is required by the Law-Making and Evaluation Act BE 2562 (2019), which requires regular evaluation of regulations.

The SEC is conducting this public hearing to address issues and challenges related to the applicable decree and its related regulations. Feedback will help ensure that the decree is necessary, consistent and effectively enforced.

The consultation document is available on the SEC’s website and at the Central Legal Center. Interested parties are encouraged to submit comments by July 22, 2024 via the SEC’s website or by email to [email protected] or [email protected].
