Yu-Gi-Oh TCG ABC – Dragon Slayer

The first-ever ABC-Dragon Buster card was released as part of Structure Deck: Seto Kaiba in 2016. As the name suggests, this Structure deck used many of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG cards used by Seto Kaiba in the original Yu-Gi-Oh Anime. For this reason, Konami brought him back with the release of Duelist Pack: Duelists of Brilliance, as Kaiba is one of the three characters this Duelist Pack is themed around.

Longtime Yu-Gi-Oh TCG players will remember that for the vast majority of this card’s existence, it was limited to some level in tournament play in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. In the period from October 2017 to January 2023, except for the six-month period from October 2019 to April 2020, this card was limited or partially limited.

This was also the case for the card in other regions from April to December 2020. While the metagame has reached a point where this card no longer needs to be restricted, the reputation that ABC-Dragon Buster has gained over the years has increased interest in the card.

This card also contains allusions to several other related cards. For example, the card’s name “ABC-Dragon Buster” comes from the names of the three Fusion Monsters that serve as Fusion Materials: A-Assault Core, B-Buster Drake, and C-Crush Wyvern. The monster itself is also a physical combination of all three.

Additionally, ABC-Dragon Buster is the equivalent of XYZ-Dragon Cannon, a card first released under Advent Union’s Core Booster in 2002 that shares many similarities in both functionality and appearance. The XYZ-Dragon Cannon also appeared in the Structure: Seto Kaiba deck.

Finally, ABC-Dragon Buster can also be compared to VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon as both cards have the same type, level, attribute, and original ATK and DEF.

The English release date for this card has not yet been confirmed.

The current price for the ABC-Dragon Buster (Duelist Pack: Duelists of Brilliance DP29-JP033) Quarter Century Secret Rare card is ¥2,100 (~$13).
