Vogue Williams about home tech gadgets that make life easier

I am delighted, terrible at everything related to technology. If I need to update my phone I call my sister Amber, if I need to sort out my online banking I call my stepfather Neil. I realize that at the age of 38 I should be better prepared for the world of artificial intelligence and technology, but I still find myself at the back of the class. However, my house is a bit of a technical dream. I didn’t realize how much I liked home gadgets until I started writing this column, which started as a love letter to my Qooker faucet. I fell in love with this faucet. It gives me everything I need – ice cold filtered water, sparkling water for vodka soda and lime, and boiling water for endless cups of tea. I’ve had one in London for a few years because our tap water isn’t safe to drink here and it’s the same in my beautiful home town of Howth – I feel guilty saying anything even remotely negative about Howth, but the water isn’t great!

I didn’t drink coffee until I had my third child, Otto, and realized I would never sleep again, so I jumped on the coffee train. By the time all my kids were sleeping well, I was already hooked. I drank a lot of Nespresso until I went to my cousin Sheena’s house and she made me a cup of coffee from her Sage espresso machine, which was a complete game changer. It’s an expensive machine, but I bought mine on sale at Arnotts and honestly, the taste is second to none.
