Applied Materials Profits, Record Revenues in Q4

Investing.com – Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings that topped analyst expectations and revenue topped forecasts.

The company reported earnings per share of $0.8 on revenue of $3.75 billion. Analysts surveyed by Investing.com forecast EPS of $0.76 on revenue of $3.68 billion. This compared to EPS of $0.97 on revenue of $4.01 billion in the same period a year earlier. In the previous quarter, the company saw EPS of $0.74 on revenue of $3.56 billion.

Following the report, Applied Materials shares gained 3.44% to close at $58.96 in after-hours trading.

On October 30, Apple reported fourth-quarter EPS of $3.03 on revenue of $64.04 billion, compared to forecasts for EPS of $2.83 on revenue of $63.01 billion.

Microsoft’s earnings exceeded analyst expectations on October 23, with first-quarter EPS of $1.38 and revenue of $33.06 billion. Investing.com analysts expected EPS of $1.25 on revenue of $32.15 billion
