The enemy is most active in the Pokrovsk and Kupyansk sectors

This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an update of the situation on Tuesday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m., Ukrinform reports.

“The enemy continues to conduct offensive operations. The greatest activity is observed in the Pokrovsky and Kupyansk sectors. “The units of the Defense Forces are boldly repelling the attack of the occupiers and fiercely responding to their attempts,” we read in the update.

Russian aggressors continued to shell the border areas of the Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts with artillery. In particular, the enemy fired in the direction of Pokrovka, Iskrivshchina, Baranivka and Veľká Pysarivka.

In the Kharkov sector, the enemy uses guided aerial bombs. Since the beginning of the day, the number of combat engagements has increased to four. Fighting continues near Lyptsi, where the occupiers used seven glide bombs, and Staritsa. The aggressors dropped four more glide bombs on Neskuchne.

The intensity of Russian assault operations in the Kupiańsk area has increased. The enemy carried out 12 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Synkovka, Novoselivka, Miasozharivka, Druzheliubivka and Tverdokhlibov. Ukrainian soldiers repelled eight enemy attacks. Fighting is currently taking place in the areas of Petropavlivka, Stepovka, Novoiehorivka and Nevske.

Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has carried out eight offensive operations in the Lyman area, seven of which were successfully repelled by the Ukrainian defenders. No positions were lost. The Battle of Torske continues.

In the Kramatorsk area, the occupiers are trying to storm Ukrainian positions with the support of aircraft. Outside the settlement of Pivnichne, unguided air missiles are actively used. Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled four enemy attacks. One is still in progress.

The enemy is especially active today in the Pokrovsk region. The intensity of fighting here has almost doubled. Fifteen combat encounters have been reported so far. Five of them are still operated near Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove and Prohres. The occupiers shelled Kostiantynówka with unguided air rockets.

In the Vremivka area, the enemy carried out two attacks near Staromiorski and Rozdolne. Ukrainian forces control the situation.

There are three combat engagements underway on the Orich Axis. The invaders tried unsuccessfully to break through the Ukrainian defenses near Robotyny and Małe Szczerbaki.

On the Dnieper River section, on the bridgeheads on the eastern bank of the river, Russian aggressors made seven unsuccessful attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from positions near Olhivka and Novaya Tyahynka. Five guided aerial bombs were used. The Battle of Krynki continues.

In other sectors, the situation has not changed significantly.

The Ukrainian General Staff previously reported that on May 27 there were 115 combat clashes on the front line.
