NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed lower on Tuesday’s session.

Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd. (up 1.17%), Ponni Sugars(Erode) Ltd. (up 0.67%), EID Parry(India) Ltd. (up 0.51%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd . (up 0.20%) and Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (up 0.01%) were among the top gainers.

DCM Shriram Industries Ltd. (down 5.26%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (down 3.38%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd. (down 2.73%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd. ( down 2.55%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 2.32%), Mawana Sugars Ltd. (down 1.99%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd. (down 1.89%), Rana Sugars Ltd. (down 1.64%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd. (down 1.51%) and Dalmia Bharat The biggest losers of the day were Sugar and Industries Ltd. (down 1.36%).

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the session down 44.3 points at 22,888.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 220.05 points down at 75,170.45.

(up Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 1.58%), Asian Paints Ltd. (up 1.36%), Wipro Ltd. (up 0.8%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 0.74%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (up 0.71%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack, while Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. ( down 2.18%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 1.62%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (down 1.46%), Coal India Ltd. (down 1.38%) %), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (down 1.37%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 1.21%), Tata Motors Ltd.
