The beginning of summer in France is full of strikes. We look at which strikes have already been announced for June and which sectors may be affected.

There is also good news as one national strike has been called off.

French ports – June 2, 6, 10, 12, 14, 18, 20, 24, 26, 28

The strike will take place in all French ports in June for 10 days due to pension and labor issues.

Downtime will last four hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The strike, called by the Association of Transport and Logistics Companies of France, could delay ship operations and affect container removal and docking operations.

This is expected to have a greater impact on freight than on ferry travel.

RATP public transport workers in Paris – from May to September

Employees of RATP, which manages public transport in the French capital, have been on a renewable strike since February.

Trade unions called for a strike over issues such as low pay and working conditions.

It will last until the end of the Olympic and Paralympic Games on September 9.

The warning means that a strike could occur on any day during this period, so travelers to Paris are advised to check whether any disruption has been announced for the period they will be staying.

Private hospitals and clinics – from June 3 – suspended

The strike by staff of private hospitals and clinics across France, which is scheduled to take place from June 3, has been suspended.

The Association of the Federation of Private Hospitals called for a strike, demanding more funding for hospitals, but on Friday, May 24, it announced a suspension after obtaining “commitments” and “decisions” from the government.
