American fashion company in cooperation with WHP Global, recently completed the acquisition of the New York fashion brand Rag & Bone, which operates as an independent brand in the Guess portfolio. Under the agreement, Los Angeles-based Guess owns all of Rag & Bone’s operating assets, and Guess and WHP Global jointly own Rag & Bone’s intellectual property.

In his new position, Rosen will provide strategic leadership and oversight of Rag & Bone’s executive team to advance the company’s mission. In this role, the director will work closely with Paul Marciano, co-founder and chief creative officer of Guess, Carlos Alberini, CEO of Guess, and Yehuda Shmidman, president and CEO of WHP Global.

After an early career at Calvin Klein, Rosen co-founded Theory in 1997 and oversaw the company’s growth as CEO for more than 20 years. Today, he remains an active investor and mentor in several American fashion brands, including Alice + Olivia, Veronica Beard and TWP.

I have been associated with Rag & Bone since 2006. I have always been passionate about our brand and the opportunities it offers. This new relationship now cements these ambitions, providing us with an incredible platform to realize our potential around the world,” Rosen said.

“Our executive team and I are excited to embark on this journey with Paul, Carlos, the entire Guess organization, as well as Yehuda and WHP Global. The passion and opportunity they bring to this acquisition is exciting for all of us involved. I am confident that as part of the Guess portfolio, Rag & Bone is well positioned to continue our success, deliver even greater collections to our customers and provide our team members with new opportunities for years to come.

In March, Guess Inc. announced that fourth-quarter revenue rose 9% to $891.1 million, and the US fashion company reported single-digit sales growth for the year.
