Honasa Consumer acquires CosmoGenesis Labs

Honasa Consumer recently acquired the assets of CosmoGenesis Labs, marking a significant advancement in research-based innovation and strengthening its commitment to meet the evolving needs of Indian consumers. Honasa Consumer, the parent company of Mamaearth, The Derma Co., Aqualogica and Dr Sheths, continues to grow into a leading brand in the personal care sector.

Ghazal Alagh, CIO and co-founder of Honasa Consumer, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting its potential to expand research and product development capabilities. Alagh emphasized that this strategic alliance will enable Honasa to explore new subcategories, leverage advanced research and development, and deliver high-quality products to consumers.

In Q4FY24, Honasa reported a remarkable 21.5% year-on-year growth in operating income. Additionally, the company achieved an improvement in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) margin of 780 basis points, culminating in a quarterly profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 30 crore.

CosmoGenesis, founded by Rohini Manoj in 2011, is famous for its skin care products and offers over 5,000 cosmetics and body care products to businesses across India. Manoj expressed confidence in the collaboration with Honasa Consumer, highlighting their shared commitment to innovation and excellence, especially in the areas of botanical ingredients and natural beauty care.
