Enel Chile reaches a milestone with the first energy synchronization of the energy storage system at the El Manzano solar power plant

Enel Chile has announced a significant battery storage system (BESS) achievement at its El Manzano solar power plant, marking the project’s first energy synchronization. The power plant located in the Tiltil commune injected 100% clean hybrid energy into the National Electricity System (SEN).

El Manzano is reported to be the first park in a hybrid format in the metropolitan region, combining bifacial photovoltaic technology with a BESS system. With a capacity of 67 MW/2h, BESS increases the efficiency and reliability of the power plant.

The El Manzano solar park, operated by Enel Green Power Chile, a subsidiary of Enel Chile, began operations in January this year. The park, which covers an area of ​​185 hectares, consists of 162,000 double-sided monocrystalline panels with a power of 615 and 610 W, which are expected to generate 226 GWh per year.
