Deceuninck increases green energy with 2,200 solar panels

The renewable energy source not only reduces Deceuninck’s dependence on fossil fuels for its operations, but also significantly reduces CO emissions2 emissions by 498,507 kg per year.

Darren Woodcock, chief operating officer at Deceuninck, said: “The solar panels went live on the 15thvol March. We only experienced about four hours of downtime while connecting the inverters. It was a seamless installation.

“We have every aspect of the roof covered that can be covered with panels. Solar energy will help us offset rising energy costs, but it will also generate huge environmental savings by further reducing CO emissions2 emissions and enabling producers to benefit from the savings.”

Deceuninck has established leadership in sustainability based on its commitment to the Science-Based Targets (SBTi) program, with a core commitment to reducing CO emissions2 emissions from own activities (Scope 1 and 2) by 60% by 2030 compared to the 2021 baseline.

Deceuninck’s research shows that while manufacturers and installers want to reduce their carbon footprint, many didn’t know where to start and were discouraged by the complexity of the process.

Thanks to Deceuninck’s new use of renewable energy, manufacturers can now increase their own sustainability by simply purchasing Deceuninck products and benefiting from the work done upstream in the supply chain.

In addition to enabling window manufacturers to measure their carbon footprint using an innovative carbon calculator, Deceuninck has also provided guidance on how companies can reduce their own CO emissions2 emissions – and how a more sustainable approach can help them attract more customers.

This includes: Sustainability marketing toolkit, with key position statements based on Deceuninck’s scientific commitments; printable private label sustainability brochures; plug-and-play website content; e-shots; social media resources; presenter decks; and video content; leaflets left at doors; sustainability logo; banners for hanging in showrooms, wall stickers; and leaflets.

“We will be able to display the number of trees we have saved each day, reducing CO2 emissions by using clean energy in our reception area,” said Darren.

“This is a clear and tangible way for us to communicate with our customers about our savings, in the same way that our customers can benefit from the free, substantive communications and resources available through our marketing toolkit.”
