Acknowledging the challenges, Tasrif highlighted Indonesia’s diverse energy sources, including hydrocarbon-based and clean renewable energy sources. He stressed the need for strategic use in ongoing initiatives such as electricity interconnection infrastructure, natural gas exploration and the PLTU phase-out program.

Tasrif emphasized the importance of financial efforts, highlighting initiatives such as JETP, AZEC and IPEP, while emphasizing the need for continued support for NZE acceleration. He stressed the need for accelerated technological development and ease of implementation on an industrial scale to maximize the use of renewable energy.

The minister emphasized Indonesia’s focus on further mineral processing to support the energy transition, create new jobs and support ecosystem development. He further highlighted efforts to incentivize downstream mineral resources to strengthen the renewable energy ecosystem.

The shift to electric vehicles is presented as a key strategy to decarbonize road transport, consistent with emissions reduction targets. Tasrif stressed the need to reduce emissions, especially in the transport sector, while highlighting the social benefits of the clean energy transition.

In conclusion, Tasrif stressed the importance of enhanced cooperation among nations to ensure inclusive progress and mitigate climate impacts, advocating for a collaborative approach to address global challenges and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
