Maribel Cruz-Brown

AND New York Energy Authority the representative will be the keynote speaker at the conference ReTool’24 conference.

BPU Jamestown Business Development Coordinator Ellen Ditonto said NYPA’s Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions Maribel Cruz-Brown one of the afternoon speakers will say: “One of the topics we talked about is the importance of renewable energy for companies developing renewable energy products. And Maribel will talk about it. New York Power Authority is where we obtain renewable energy from: Niagara Power Plant Project. And it’s going to talk about how important this public energy allocation is as we look at some kind of economic turnaround, we look at the I-Tech corridor, we look at the Southern Tier and what’s happening with battery power and development.”

Ditonto said Elektrowaja, which is opening a plant in Ellicott, is a good example. She said they received a hydropower allocation from NYPA.

Cruz-Brown’s responsibilities at NYPA include working with municipal entities and state agencies to identify comprehensive clean energy solutions and service offerings for the public and business sectors it serves. Her work fits well with a conference focused on clean energy opportunities.

The one-day conference will be held on Tuesday, June 11 at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel.

It focuses on clean energy sector opportunities for small and medium-sized producers and is organized by the Jamestown Public Utilities Board.
