Microsoft releases Edge 126.0.2592.11 and introduces one-time password (OTP) feature on Android

Microsoft has released version 126.0.2592.11 of Microsoft Edge to the Developer Channel for those familiar with Edge. This release includes an OTP switch in Edge://flags settings on Android, improved reliability, and browser stability fixes.

Here’s what the release notes say:

Added features:

  • Introduced a one-time password (OTP) toggle in the Edge://flags settings on Android.

Improved reliability:

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in a browser crash when clicking the “Join Now & Activate Cashback” button again after logging into your MSA account.
  • Fixed an issue that caused unexpected crashes when capturing toolbar screenshots.

Changed behavior:

  • Fixed an issue that occurred when using Narrator with a box indicating “This page is open in Internet Explorer mode”; Narrator’s focus was incorrectly on the “Learn more” link twice without providing any audio information.
  • Fixed an issue where the focus sequence was not in the correct order when selecting the “Manage performance settings” menu option.
  • Fixed an issue where the favorites folder required double-clicking to open after renaming.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in app icons not appearing after refreshing the sidebar settings page.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in an incorrect favicon being displayed.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented groups of tabs opened from separate profiles from being collectively displayed.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Delete Site” message overlapped with other options in the Edge://settings/starthomeNTP section.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing Enter on the Back button would cause the Microsoft Rewards section to become unresponsive.
  • Android:
    • Fixed an issue where quickly clicking “Set as default browser” would accidentally open two separate windows.
    • Fixed an issue where the word “Active” was partially hidden in the history page on Android.
    • Fixed an issue where UI colors were inconsistent in the favorites section.

You can download Microsoft Edge Beta from the official Edge Insider website. Version 126 is expected to be available to the general public in June 2024.
