America’s growing demand for electricity is largely met by photovoltaics, and states like California have managed to generate volumes that were considered unattainable just two or three years ago. However, the next project is the one that will put the world on the brink, with this 20-meter colossus that we are going to put off the coast and with which they will produce monsters like Katrina energy.

New energy that will be developed in the USA, but now where you think

Over the last decade, offshore wind energy has grown significantly around the world, especially when we look at the amount of energy since 2015, it has doubled in the last five years. This renewable energy source has great generation potential because offshore winds are stronger and more continuous.

The potential is very promising, and harnessing just a small fraction of offshore wind resources could be enough to generate more electricity than what is already installed around the world. Even though the offshore wind industry is relatively young, the United States has recently begun large-scale investments in this area.

The Biden administration’s current new formulation for wind projects is reach a capacity of 30 GW offshore wind power in 2030. This represents an upward shift from the current 42 megawatts installed in 2022 and shows how far the country has come in deploying renewable energy.

Why is marine energy the future of our ecological transformation?

Overall, offshore wind can be recommended as a source of clean, renewable energy due to its advantages. As a carbon-free energy source, it can help states and utilities achieve increased clean energy opportunities in conjunction with decarbonization goals.

Offshore wind farms also contribute to the country’s economy by providing income and employment opportunities. Offshore activity creates good and better-paid jobs related to equipment production, construction, operation and maintenance of wind projects.

This also leads to benefits and impacts on the local economies of various regions. This means that investing in the offshore wind supply chain and workforce offers business prospects that cut across industries. The findings also show that a new 1,000-megawatt offshore wind farm developed in the US may be the most futuristic solution.

The US is making progress with this new type of energy: at sea, but not underwater

The recent Offshore Wind event revealed that the United States has begun developing floating offshore wind technology with projects along the Pacific Coast and on the East Coast. The Block Island wind farm, located near Rhode Island, has only five turbines and only began generating 30 MW in 2016.

This project demonstrated that offshore wind energy is a viable source of renewable energy in the US. More recently, other projects have been started on the west coast because the water is relatively deeper and requires the use of floating systems. 2024 is a new year for the Redwood Energy Authority to implement a new project in the California Sea.

This project is expected to have a capacity of 100-150 MW and will overcome the challenges of floating wind energy and stimulate the region’s economy. Further south, at the Morro Bay wind farm south of central California, capacity of up to 1.2 gigawatts is planned.

The proposed containers are ideally suited to be scaled to full capacity, and the utility of this design is that it can provide a significant amount of renewable energy to the state. Fully equipped with leasable space and full environmental analysis, the Morro Bay Wind Farm is developing gradually.
